Gutsville issue 1: way free

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

Gutsville 01 CoverOkay so here’s some comics reading in between my ghostly updates:

Issue 1 of GUTSVILLE is available free online at NEWSARAMA, and you should read it, because it’s brilliant and it’s got the best setting ever, ever. And the ending made me laugh kind of really a lot.

Weirdly, Gutsville is actually very similar to a certain part of my next webcomic…but, well, you’ll see, once I get that rolling. And, actually, once it’s been rolling for a while. Anyway.

Neil Cohn’s Navigating Comics

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Neil Cohn has a new paper out called Navigating Comics. It’s a study of how comics readers navigate through the visual language of comics. His website also hosts a collection of essays on comics which look very interesting (I haven’t read the older stuff yet).

Journal comix, ho!

The about page, which'll be the best looking comic on the new site for a while.

The about page.

Hi guys! Sorry I’m late, but I’ve been busy drawing comix! Dang! But now you can see them, as I’ve whipped together a derivative nice site for them. I’ll be posting one a day for about a week, and then I’ll cut back to a few times a week after that (probably M-W-F, but we’ll see).

It doesn’t have a name, really, so I don’t know what domain to buy for it! So for the time being, it’s over at journal.boohaven.com with an RSS feed (powered by RSSpect) here. Leave naming suggestions in the comments, or say hi or whatever!
