Friday — August 8th, 2008: Giving up the ghost

This is BOOHAVEN’s final strip.

I hope you enjoyed these 118 comics. It was fun sometimes and horrible sometimes and satisfying sometimes, and I’m glad to be moving on. My next online project is as yet untitled, but it will begin next week. Check back here for an announcement in the near future.

Thanks for reading!

Edit: see the blog post below for a sweet announcement regarding a new webcomic project! Also, comments on BOOHAVEN will be turned off permanently in a few days, so get your DESU DESU DESUs or whatever in while you still can! See you on the new site!

A forest as a wall of noise

Okay so I drew this just recently:

Your props, give them to me: James Hodges and Skull Cull

So a little while ago James Hodges who is this kid I know from Berlin and who is in a band called Michael Jordan and who does stuff for Overspray, said BOOHAVEN was “almost always funny”, which is more than I would say for it.

And then more recently, my art LJ got some accolades from Paul Grimsley on Skull Cull, which is pretty sweet since there’s not actually much stuff on the LJ and I don’t actually know the guy personally. He has a lot to say about comics though, which is pretty cool, since I don’t think I know enough about comics.

So that’s sweet huh.

Obama noms

From R.Stevens, from way back when it was merely inevitable:
NOM NOM NOMINEE
…but despite this capital-E Event (okay, it’s been obvious for a while, but guys, he’s black), the 2 main articles on the front page of nytimes.com are about, argh, Hillary.

Anyway, to quote tressiemc, here’s “the dap heard ’round the world”.

Boom.

Exercise RSStraint

OOPS I messed up the RSS feed something fierce. So to anyone who reads this via RSS (or anyone who saw the mad incomprehensible post blitz on Facebook), sorry about that. It’s all fixed and cleaned up now and good to go.

New BOOHAVEN

So: ComicPress 2.5 was released recently, prompting a site redesign. I kept it similar, and simple, and scrapped the ads for the time being because ads are kinda annoying and they weren’t netting me much cash anyway. Along with the redesign, I decided to mix up the art a little bit I think to prevent burnout and to allow for a broader range of possibilities. The format stays the same, though (for now). Also, there will likely be some site adjustments in the coming week. Okay, cool.

Galicia

GALICIAHeyo I’m in Galicia now in a little farm house which surprised me by having das Internet, which means that BOOHAVEN will be not so super hard to update as I’d thought it might be for the next few weeks. I was a little worried but I didn’t mention it and now that I’m no longer worried I thought maybe I would, okay.

MUTO

I’d seen the middle part of this before but wow.

More great street arts: Mark Jenkins.

We go to see Ruins and Acid Mothers Temple

I made another comic, hooray. It has color and is about great music and me being way tired.
