There’s been a lot of news lately about the protests against the torch run for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Human rights advocates around the world have reduced the supposed gesture of international cooperation and sportsmanship to a hilarious farce. This is especially funny to me because the torch run began in its present form in 1936, when it was created by the Nazis to showcase Aryan power. Ha ha, oops.

(Also, guess who found the link between smoking and lung cancer? Surprise, it’s the Nazis.)
